I'm still at the querying stage on my first novel whilst I write my second. I had to cut the word count from 185k to ~125k to better fit the traditional publication route. Lessons learnt and much story lost!
I don't think I can earn sufficient money from serialisation - it's my Plan C! You first have to query literary agents, who then submit your manuscript to the big publishers. (There are very few direct routes, all involving smaller publishers.)

I meant turning your book into a duology etc. And how do you find those literary agents?
